We are pleased to announce that Richard Curtis will commence as Bell Bay Aluminium’s General Manager on 27 February 2023.
Richard joins us from Tasmania’s Liberty Bell Bay Smelter where he has held the role of General Manager for the past two years. Richard has more than 30 years’ experience across smelting, mining and heavy industry in Tasmania and Australia, and has established himself as a well-regarded business leader within the state.
Richard’s appointment followed the departure of our previous General Manager, Shona Markham, who left in February 2022 to head Rio Tinto’s Weipa operations. From March to December 2022, Mark Gerrard acted in the role of General Manager.
We would like to thank Mark for his leadership and commitment to Bell Bay Aluminium in this role, particularly in leading our team through periods of significant process instability and navigating the challenges of COVID-19.
