Bell Bay Aluminium community grants announced

Community groups and not-for-profit organisations were able to apply for up to $3,000 under the smelter’s annual grant program.

Acting general manager Mark Gerrard said there was a great response to the grant program.

“There were many worthy projects submitted for consideration and I am delighted that we can support 14 organisations with funding for projects and initiatives that represent the diverse needs of our local communities across Tasmania.

“It is widely known that building community connections makes communities stronger and happier. There’s no one better for this task than organisations made up of community members who understand and work with and within their communities.

“Our annual community grants program serves to assist these organisations to provide services to their communities which enhance wellbeing and enable community connections to strengthen, as well as create strong community partnerships and sustainability beyond the grant funding.”

Grant applications were assessed by a panel of employees.
