Tasmania’s finest apprentices, trainees, vocational students, teachers, and trainers as well as training providers and employers were recognised at the 2023 Tasmania Training Awards run by Skills Tasmania in Hobart on Friday 8 September 2023.
Congratulations to Bell Bay Aluminium’s Jake Chilcott who was named the 2023 Tasmanian Apprentice of the Year Award.
Jake completed his Certificate III in Electrotechnology through TasTAFE while undertaking his apprenticeship with Bell Bay Aluminium. In deciding on a career, Jake chose an electrical trade because the industry is constantly evolving, it involves working through complex problems and always learning something new.
Jake’s success is evident in his commitment to his apprenticeship and his role now as a process maintainer. Jake will represent Tasmania in the Australian Training Awards, to be held in Hobart on 17 November this year.
