Community spirit alive and well through community grants program

Community spirit alive and well through community grants program

Bell Bay Aluminium has awarded more than $51,000 to 21 local organisations through its 2024 grants program.

Held annually, the program awards community groups and not-for-profits with up to $3000 for initiatives that make real and lasting change to benefit Tasmanians.

Bell Bay Aluminium General Manager Richard Curtis said Tasmania has a range of diverse of social, environmental, and economic needs, and many of these groups are assisting to fill the void, often with small budgets and a volunteer workforce.

“From providing first aid and emergency call-out equipment to community gardens and youth leadership opportunities, it was an incredibly difficult task for our assessment panel to choose this year’s grant recipients,” Mr Curtis said.

“We are inspired by the contributions these organisations make to their communities. Through their support of Tasmanians, we can make a positive and genuine difference in people’s lives.”
