Community groups and not-for-profit organisations were able to apply for up to $3,000 under the smelter’s annual grant program.
General Manager Richard Curtis said there was a strong response to the grant program from the community.
“With almost 90 organisations submitting applications for worthy projects, it was a tough role for our team members who put their hand up to form our assessment panel.
“I am delighted that in 2023 we can support 27 organisations with funding for projects and initiatives that represent the diverse needs of our local communities across Tasmania in key social, environmental, and economic focus areas.
“The grants will help these organisations provide sustainable services that will enhance wellbeing and strengthen community connections.”
