Caring for human life and wellbeing above everything else is a fundamental part of our approach.
With a focus on safety in the workplace, Bell Bay Aluminium prioritises the adoption of best practice safety and the prevention of incidents and injuries in our work towards a goal of zero harm. We actively monitor and ensure the security and resilience of our operations, and collaborate when confronted with unwanted events.
Safety
We focus on our people and their behaviours. We have empowered our employees: "If it's not safe, don't do it that way." Everyone on site has the authority to stop work they deem unsafe.
Bell Bay Aluminium works to continually improve our safety performance. Our focus ensures regular renewal and relevance of our policies, procedures and activities, as well as compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Health and wellbeing
We work hard to improve the health and wellbeing of all our employees, and aim to create sustainable and positive outcomes on-site and within the broader community.
We conduct routine health monitoring and health surveillance across site. Our on-site Occupational Health Centre provides a range of health and hygiene services to reduce worker exposure to process health hazards. We also offer employee health and wellbeing initiatives as part of our community support and investment work.
Responding to emergencies
Our Emergency Response Team is trained and prepared to respond to a range of emergency situations in potentially difficult situations, with monthly training including emergency scenarios and first aid.
