The George Town Mountain Bike Trail Network has captured the growing market of mountain bike trail enthusiasts both living in, and visiting, Tasmania. The network involves approximately 80 kilometres of trail, covering a broad range of experiences suited to the full range of rider abilities. More than half of the total trail network is located on buffer land owned by the smelter.
In December 2022, a further 21 trails to complement the Mount George trails were opened at the lower Tippogoree Hills trails. This network includes a trail head at Lauriston Park on the East Tamar Highway. We continue to work closely with the George Town Council and other stakeholders on the evolution of the trail network and associated facilities.
