Winners Announced at Women In Resources Tasmania Awards

Three outstanding women from Bell Bay Aluminium were recognised at the annual Tasmanian Women in Resources Awards for their contributions to creating stronger, more gender diverse work environments. At the awards ceremony at Parliament House in Hobart on Thursday 30 May.

The annual Women in Resources Tasmania Awards are coordinated by the Tasmanian Minerals, Manufacturing and Energy Council (TMEC) in conjunction with the AusIMM Women in Mining Network Tasmania (WIMnet) to honour and celebrate those role models and businesses who are creating stronger, more gender diverse work environments.

More than 120 guests attended the award ceremony including Tasmanian Minister for Resources, the Honourable Sarah Courtney MP as well as Bell bay’s general manager, Kevin Taylor and managing director, Pacific Operations, Kellie Parker.

Principal advisor community relations Lou Clark won the Exceptional Woman in a Non-Executive Role category while Highly Commended recognition was given to scheduler Janine Simmonds in the Exceptional Woman in Manufacturing category and electrical apprentice Hayley Williams in Outstanding Tasmanian Tradeswoman category. Operator Zoe Spinks and Tanvi Gupta, process engineer were also finalists.
