First Impressions

Boon Tai had only been working at Comalco for three months when he was interviewed about his impressions of his new workplace. A Mechanical Engineer, Boon is originally from Malaysia. Having studied at UTas Hobart, this is his first job. He is working on special projects, organising and seeking to keep them running smoothly. Learning about the different systems used, 
in particular the computer software are just some of the challenges he is facing.

Boon spoke warmly of his new colleagues. He feels very comfortable working in such a friendly, supportive environment. Moreover, he appreciates the great facilities and the emphasis on safety.

The workforce at Comalco is a wonderful mix of people with diverse experiences and different backgrounds. Whist some have only been there a short time, there are many ‘old-timers’ with great stories to tell. Comalco is a very interesting and special place to visit and all who work there contribute to making this so.
