The annual program provides grants of up to $3,000 to Tasmanian community organisations, helping fund initiatives that deliver positive social, environmental, health or education outcomes. BBA General Manager Richard Curtis said the quality and diversity of applications highlighted the important work being undertaken by community organisations in the state. “Selecting this year's recipients was incredibly difficult due to the number of outstanding applications we received," Mr Curtis said. “Community organisations are the backbone of towns right across Tasmania. Their volunteers contribute countless hours to create opportunities for people to participate, connect and thrive. "Funding this year will support a wide variety of projects, from school resilience workshops to infrastructure upgrades, equipment purchases and many other initiatives that strengthen our local communities. "We are proud to support those groups whose efforts help make Tasmania's communities stronger, more connected and more resilient." Successful applicants gathered to celebrate their grant funding at a morning tea hosted by BBA at the George Town Golf Club on 20 October. The Community Grant applications are independently assessed by BBA's employee Community Grants Assessment Panel, with recipients selected from a strong field of submissions. The Community Grants Program forms part of BBA's ongoing commitment to supporting the communities where its employees live and work, ensuring local organisations have the resources they need to continue making a positive impact across Tasmania.
