Tasmanian Students Aiming for 2 National Wins in a Row

This time last year Tasmanian high schools dominated the National Finals of Australia’s biggest STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) competition: the F1inSchools STEM Challenge….and this coming week, at the Launceston Convention Centre, they are aiming for back-to-back victories.

Bell Bay Aluminium Community Grants Announced

More than $17,000 will flow to 12 organisations and community projects around the State from Bell Bay Aluminium’s annual community grants and assistance program. The programs provide financial support to not-for-profit and community organisations in Tasmania on an annual basis.

Local Schools support Smelter’s Annual Tree Planting

Over 100 students from local schools in Launceston will get their hands dirty and feet muddy planting trees this Thursday with Bell Bay Aluminium. Participating schools include Waverley, Invermay, East Tamar and Mowbray Heights Primary Schools.

Bell Bay Aluminium’s gas transportation arrangements have been extended as an interim measure until the end of 2017 to ensure continued supply while Hydro Tasmania and Tasmanian Gas Pipeline continue to negotiate a new agreement.
